Class Description

Swimsuit Making Workshop Little Sewers Club | Intermediate Level | Ages 6–17 Make a splash this summer!! Join us for a special two-day sewing experience where students will create their own handcrafted swimsuit — just in time for pool days, beach trips, and summer fun. This workshop is designed for intermediate sewists who are ready to expand their skills and explore sewing with stretch fabrics. Students will work through garment construction techniques specific to swimwear, including working with knits, elastic, and clean finishing methods — all within a supportive, hands-on studio environment. ⸻ Workshop Dates: Optional Cutting Session (Highly Recommended) Friday, May 15th | 5:00–6:30 PM Students may come in to lay out and cut their fabric with guidance so the sewing day can be focused on construction. Sewing Day Saturday, May 16th | 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM ⸻ Ages: 6–17 Prerequisite: This is an intermediate-level workshop. Current Little Sewers Club members must have all pillow projects completed before registering. Non-members must have prior sewing experience and receive instructor approval before enrolling. ⸻ Materials Needed Please bring: • 2 yards of 4-way stretch nylon/spandex • Optional: 1 additional yard in a different color or print for color blocking or mixing prints • 3 yards or 3/8" Wide Rubber Elastic, 2 yards of 1/4" Wide Rubber Elastic Swim Trunks Option: • 2 yards of board short fabric • 1 yard of mesh fabric (for lining) ⸻ What to Bring on Sewing Day • A water bottle • A sack lunch We will take a short lunch break during the day. ⸻ Completion Policy While the goal is to complete the swimsuit during the workshop, many students will need additional time to finish their garment. • Current Members: Any unfinished portions may be completed during regular weekly class times. • Non-Members: If the garment is not finished during the workshop, students may register for drop-in classes or enroll in a membership to complete their project. ⸻ Space is intentionally limited to ensure each student receives focused instruction in this more advanced sewing experience. We can’t wait to see what they create.

Little Sewers Club – Class Booking Policy To help classes run smoothly and ensure we have the proper equipment and supplies available for every session, we ask that all families follow the booking guidelines below. Pre-Booking Required All classes must be pre-booked online through our scheduling system before attending. Members who arrive without a reservation risk being turned away if the class is already full. Pre-booking allows us to prepare the studio and ensure the best experience for every member. Managing Your Bookings Members may cancel or reschedule their own bookings directly through their online account. Bookings may be cancelled or rescheduled up to 2 hours before the scheduled class time. After the 2-hour window has passed, the booking can no longer be modified and the class credit will be forfeited. Members who repeatedly miss classes without cancelling in advance may be charged a $25 late fee per missed class, as we want to ensure that space remains available for others who are hoping to attend. Waitlists If a class is fully booked, members may join the waitlist through the booking system. If a spot opens, you will be notified and can claim the seat. Credits, Camps, Workshops & Private Lessons All booking credits for classes, camps, workshops, and private lessons are non-refundable and non-transferable. Why We Use Pre-Booking Our classes are intentionally kept small so each member receives guidance and access to equipment.
